What people say about Main Plaza

"I think about what the landscape looked like and what it meant to our ancestors when they arrived in 1731. It warms my own heart to walk in their footsteps in and around the Plaza and to share their story with locals and visitors alike. Our ancestors are calling upon us to do so."

Julia R. Lopez
President of Canary Island Descendants Association (CIDA)

"Main Plaza, Plaza de las Islas, has been central to San Antonio from the beginning of our founding. It is a place of history, memory, life, culture, faith and tradition.
It continues to inspire us and we must all keep it alive for future generations."

Fr David Garcia
Retired San Antonio Priest
