DESCRIPTION:Tradition says that the butterflies that migrate through in the Fall and during the festival of Dia de los Muertos are the souls of departed loved ones returning to greet and bless those they left behind. \nJoin us on the evening of Friday\, November 1 to celebrate the memory and joy of the love that remains.  You can dedicate a butterfly to your loved ones and we’ll adorn the trees on Main Plaza with your mariposa. \nSweet treats\, acoustic music\, and the glow of the cathedral and twinkling lights will make for a beautiful\, and contemplative evening. \nWe hope you will stop by. \nIf you can’t make it on November 1\, you can still dedicate a butterfly. DESCRIPTION:The Honorable Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones has proclaimed November 16 2025 “International Day of Flamenco” in San\nAntonio. The proclamation ceremony and performance will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday\, November 16 2025\, at\nthe Main Plaza\, 115 N. Main Avenue\, San Antonio\, Texas. The ceremony will be kicked off with a reading of the\nproclamation by Poet Laureate Emeritus Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson. The ceremony will close with a performance\nby Arte y Pasión\, with Genevieve Obregon\, Jose Manuel Tejeda\, Celia Corrales\, and Roberto Riggio\, with special\nguest Dr. Tamanna Shams\, artistic director of Rhythmics School of Kathak Dance. Following the performance\,\ndancers throughout the community are invited to dance. \nThis is a FREE event.
