DESCRIPTION:Join us in planning ways to authentically celebrate and re-voice San Antonio’s first entrepreneurs:  The Chili Queens.  These intrepid women were known for literally feeding armies during war\, and “inventing” chili along the way\, changing the food landscape of the U.S. \nWe’ll start with a discussion led by panelists about their history and challenges\, as well as ways that their institutions can pool resources to create a one of a kind Chili Expo.  Later\, we’ll enjoy the view of 1 Watson Rooftop bar as they provide a tasty sample of their popular Frito Pie.  Drinks are available for purchase. \nHave thoughts?  Join us! SUMMARY:OPERA Under the Stars
DESCRIPTION:Opera Under the Stars is a free concert\, open to the community in collaboration with the Main Plaza Conservancy. This performance is the final event of the Summer Voice Program collaboration between OSA and CMI and is the culminating performance of CMI’s 210Festival. This concert features singers from the Summer Voice Program alongside musicians from CMI\, performing a collection of Beethoven folk songs and excerpts from OSA’s upcoming season. Fun for the whole family\, attendees are encouraged to bring snacks\, and lawn chairs to enjoy a fantastic night of classical music in Main Plaza. The evening concludes with The Saga light show projected on the façade of the San Fernando Cathedral\, the oldest operating sanctuary in North America in the heart of downtown.
