Celebrating Día de los Muertos!

This festival features the very best of young mariachis in our own community.

Come hear area high school groups compete for the title of “Best High School Level Mariachi in the San Antonio Area,” along with a cash prize for first place High School Mariachi. These young students will be sure to amaze everyone with their remarkable talent!

Individuals will also be trying out to be a part of the international award-winning Mariachi Corazón de San Antonio, a mariachi program for high school students that lead to scholarships towards higher education.

This year will also be celebrating Día de los Muertos throughout the evening. Altars will be setup for public interaction. Also featuring a calavera by Garcia Art Glass.

Emceeing the evening will include always-entertaining Sonny Melendrez, co-hosted with Joyce Adams! Entertainment to kickoff mid-afternoon on Saturday, October 26th.

Showcasing at the end of the evening will be Mariachi Corazón de San Antonio with a concert finale you won’t forget.

The evening will conclude with San Antonio | The Saga, the captivating video art installation on the magnificent façade of San Fernando Cathedral.

Free face painting, local vendors, and live entertainment … it will be a night full of talent and fun the family will not want to miss!

As always with Main Plaza, this event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

San Antonio | The Saga will not be showing.

Due to unforeseen technical issues, San Antonio | The Saga projections are cancelled until further notice. We are working diligently to get it repaired and showing again, and apologize for any inconvenience.
