The San Antonio Food Bank, City of San Antonio and Main Plaza Consrvancy have partnered once again to host the 2017 Main Plaza Farmers' Market - the only farmers' market in the heart of the City. Downtowners can enjoy the open-air market and historical Main Plaza while supporting local farmers and eating healthy! This is an opportunity to purchase tasty local, seasonal produce, olive oil, artisan breads or even a healthy lunch while listening to a local band. Now through December 2017, the Farmers' Market will be held each Tuesday from 10am to 1pm and wil feature cooking demonstrations.
The market also accepts SNAP benefits via Lone Star Cards and the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program Vouchers in an effort to provide fresh local produce to families in need.
Join us for our Press Conference and presentation of City document at 12:00 noon with speakers: Councilman Roberto Carlos Trevino, District 1, Eric S. Cooper, President/CEO, San Antonio Food Bank and Jane Pauley-Flores, Executive Director, Main Plaza Conservancy. Music will be provided by Dr. Rachel Y. Cruz opening with the National Anthem and mariachi sounds by members of Mariachi Corazon de San Antonio.
All open and free to the public.
